Default Second unit director in heavy talks to direct "Saw IV"!

"Today Bloody-Disgusting has learned that Saw III production designer and second unit director David Hackl is in heavy talks to direct Lionsgate's Saw IV, which is aiming at an October 26, 2007 release. Personally I love the idea of Lionsgate giving a new talent the chance to make his mark, especially since he's worked so close to Darren Lynn Bousman on both Saw sequels. We checked in with Bousman who had this to say, "I fully support the idea of David Hackl directing the next 'Saw' film..." Just to be clear, David is not signed on yet but we wish him the best of luck! More details when they come in."

That' be the safest route to take in my opinion. He's had much more experience in the SAW franchise, and him, partnered with Mark Burg(Who promised us he wouldn't let the new people fuck up the series), they just might make a kick-ass movie. It's even better to know that Darren supports the idea of David Hackl doing this!

Yes, please.
I'm hoping the SAW series kind of stays "in the family", and with David possibly directing, that would be awesome.

as much as im against another SAW movie... at least if someones gonna bring it down its the same people who started it... not just some newbie..

also this gives it less of a chance of completely crashing

Agreed.

If he does sign on, I'll feel a little better about Saw IV.

That's awesome! I wouldn't be anywhere near as worried about a Saw 4 if he signed on as director.

Not a bad choice to direct S4, he has experience with Saw 2 and 3 and I'd definitely feel comfortable with him directing.
