Default Parts in the Saw 5 script that didn't make it in to the film

Hi guys

I know there is already a thread about this, but i've been asked to make one due to that other person's thread being rather undetailed and the fact that the person who made it said they would only give up details if people joined his forum.

So, i'm gonna make a more detailed list of what got cut out of Saw 5 (i've already done one for Saw 4 on the Saw 4 board, and will be doing ones for the first 3 films soon).

I'd like to point out first of all that this list is not yet complete - Saw 5 had a hell of a lot cut out of it and what i'm doing is reading the script and making notes as I go along. With this list in this post i'll be covering up to page 33 of 104, and when I do some more (which will probably be tomorrow) I will write those in a new post on this same thread.

Ok, here goes:

During Seth’s game the voice of ‘Jigsaw’ coming from the doll is noticeably a little off from the way it usually sounds, it’s more mechanical.

The pendulum starts cutting in to Seth before he crushes his hands.

When Strahm gets attacked, just before the Water Cube game takes place, he is punched in the stomach after being injected.

The scene with Hoffman rescuing Corbett is inter-cut with Saw 3 ending flashbacks.

On John’s tape he made for Jill he says that the box she will receive will guarantee that Gideon died for a reason and that he (Gideon) will be immortal.

Hoffman’s first name was originally Alexander.

The photos of Sing, Tapp, Kerry, Rigg and Eric are not shown.

Hoffman’s sister is called Angelina – This may have been mentioned in the film, I can’t remember.

When Hoffman reads the ‘I Know Who You Are’ note we see a flashback of the ‘We’ve got a live one!’ scene.

When Erickson talks about the bodies recovered at the Gideon building he says ‘nearly a dozen dead bodies were recovered at the scene’ – instead of ‘over a dozen…’.

Strahm notices a newspaper article beside Perez’s empty bed – it shows Hoffman carrying Corbett and the teddy is in her arms, and there are blood smudges all around the picture, circling it, and we get a flashback to the ‘boy or girl?’ scene from Saw 4. This is the one I most wish had made it in to the film, because it explains why Perez said Hoffman’s name – and I’m not theorising, it actually states in the script that Perez worked out Hoffman was involved because she recognised the teddy bear.

When Hoffman enters his new lair, with the diorama, we see items from the previous films – a chain link from Troy’s game, a syringe from the needle pit and Dr Gordon’s hacksaw from the bathroom.

Mallick has a goatee beard. He also tells Brit that he sold his tv four years ago, when she says ‘havn’t you watched tv lately?’.

When Brit says ‘to make sure we follow the rules’, Ashley says ‘Which are what? This is more than some psychotic twist on Karma’.

When Mallick says ‘you’re starting to freak me out, dude’, Charles says ‘I know, because you’re the nervous, twitchy guy who gets everyone killed. Mellow the fuck out’.

Mallick’s now infamous ‘Answer meeeeeeeeeee’ line is not in the script.

The glass boxes that hold the keys also contain barbwire.

Ashley reaches her key in time and has it in her hand as the timer hits zero, she’s killed before she has time to do anything with the key.

Well, that's the first 33 pages covered. Lol. I shall make a new post on this thread with more stuff that got cut out soon - as I said, probably tomorrow, but I can't say tomorrow for definate because I don't know how tired i'll be after work! Lol. But you'll get it soon.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. I'm dying to add cut parts in this list that I remember from the first time I read the script, which involve Strahm, but they occur near the end, so I'll be patient and put them all in order. Lol.

Take care,

Keith

1) Makes sense in more ways than one

2) This is a bit iffy, but it could have made the scene more ambiguous as to "rigged or not"

3) Bad ass

4) Not too good, not too bad

5) That would be very cool

6) Be better than having 2 Marks :P

7) It was an OK touch in the film, kinda makes it seem like Tapp will be killed in the game though

8) Meh, not too major

9) Interesting...

10) THAT would've prevented a lotta drama :P

11) That too

12) Not really necessary, unless they play a role in VI >.<

13) Nice touch!

14) Also nice touch

15) Also nice, gives Charlie an actual reasoning for being a douchesack :P

16) Meh, wasn't that bad

17) Nice touch, provided they did something with it/carried the wounds

18) I don't mind either way :P

That should've been in the film. At least her death would've seemed like it actually had a point then.

Very interesting. I'm wondering why they changed Erickson's line to "over a dozen bodies". We were debating a lot over this and it's not even in the script...

As interesting as all of these are, I don't think any of them could have "saved" the film.

He probably just said it wrong on the day. It happens.
